AVI-GIF is an easy-to-use program that, as its name suggests, will let you convert your AVI (and even MPG) video files to the popular animated GIF format, with just a couple of clicks and with very good results, allowing you even to change some advanced options of the resulting GIF image.
The program's interface is clean and neatly presents all the necessary tools for performing the main converting task in an efficient way. In order to convert a video file to GIF, you need to open and select the desired AVI (or MPG) file. After that, you just press the Convert button to start the conversion process. But before you do that, if you want, you can select the frames of the AVI file you want to convert. Also, the settings of the output GIF file can be changed, for example: width, height, frame delay, color resolution, and dithering mode. Furthermore, with this application, you will also be able to convert a GIF animation to an AVI video file.
However, you won't be able to save any file on your PC, as that function is only available in the paid version, not in evaluation.
